Life has taught me to follow your passion. Having survived cancer, I realized how short life can be. The two things I am most passionate about are fitness and fashion and I here to share my experience with both.
Fitness and Fashion Passion was started because of my life long love of all things athletic and all things fashion. I not only does martial arts but am ian avid runner and also design and sew cloths and accessories for myself and others.
I not only have a lot of actual experience as an athlete, I was also a certified USAT Triathlon Coach. I also started out as self taught sewist but am currently enrolled in taking master tailoring courses. I love both fitness and fashion and hope that sharing what I have learned along the way will help you as much as I can learn from you!

If you are on the buy it try it on send it back wheel then it is really worth it to take a few measurements. Just because you wear a 6 or 10 in one size does not mean that applies across retailers. Knowing your measurements will save you a lot of time and aggravation. If you know a few simple measurements you will not go wrong most of the time.
You need a few key measurements. 1) Bust / Chest. (for tops or dresses) 2) Waist for pants and skirts and 3) your hips for pants skirts and dresses. The chart in the diagram shows you were to measure.
If you are purchasing a pair of pants look to your waist first unless you have wider than average hips, then you need to use your hips. If you select your waist and the corresponding hip is a size down, buy your waist size. If the extra room in you hip bothers you, that can be taken in. You cannot let out the waist. That would be a major garment reconstruction on a tailored pair of pants.
As far as length you need your inseam, which is from the inside of the crotch down to your ankle. I have found most brands now include the inseeam. If you are like me and have a 33" or greater inseam then regular length pants rarely fit. you have to hope to let them out or if there is a tall option then you are in luck.
It is also good to know your shape. For example my hip bone almost touches my lower rib, I have no waist. Anything that is cinched at the waist is not going to fit it will fall on my hip and if I move it up to my waist, then I have extra fabric around the chest. Wearing slacks or joggers or a skirt that sits on the hip is a much more flattering look for my short torso.
